Now that the region is growing, I want to discuss the possibility of creating new government departments. Most regions have multiple ministries. Currently, the only elected official in the region is the prime minister. (The delegate pro tempore has been appointed by the prime minister to act as the region's World Assembly delegate.) There are a few ideas I have for new government ministers, including: - Minister of the Interior to promote activity in the region and encourage nations to apply for citizenship and government positions;
- Minister of Foreign Affairs to oversee the embassy program, try to find regions with which to establish new embassies, and handle other miscellaneous activities associated with interregional diplomacy;
- Minister of Defense to provide civilian oversight of the regional army;
- Minister of Justice to oversee punishments administered by me (such as ejections from the region, suppression of message board posts, and temporary bans from these forums) and ensure that regional laws are followed.
Do any of you have any other ideas? Should officials such as these be elected or appointed? If elected, how often should elections occur? If appointed, who should be the appointer? Should there be a process of confirmation? How would such officials be removed from office? Would any of you even be interested in holding any of these positions? I don't want to create new ministries before there are players willing to fill the offices.

Sounds good. If so, I'd like to be part of the department of justice or defense.

Okay. What do all of you think of the current constitutional structure? I think it may be a bit cumbersome to have a large assembly like this in which votes last for seven days. What do you think of changing the Constitution and handing over powers to an elected council? Right now, I'm writing a proposal for a replacement Constitution that I'll post later this week. Replacing the Constitution would require a two-thirds vote.

I would be easier for everyone if it's there was an elected assembly of maybe 5 or 10 people who would do all of the voting. Also, I agree with texoma about having elections 1nce a month.

I'm in the process of writing a new constitution and constructing better regional forums. (I've suspended recruiting while I'm doing this.)
@ prussianempire
I'm still waiting on a reply from the East Coast about you being an ambassador to that region.

I'll probably post it tomorrow (maybe later today). Then, before voting we need to discuss it and proofread it. Finally, we need to vote on it (seven days under the current constitution). We'll probably have a new government structure by January 1.
